Tasker for TaskRabbit Review (2024): Great for Freelance Work

TaskRabbit is a leading game-changer in the gig economy. It is a robust platform that helps people quickly find and hire freelancers for various services. Freelancers on the app, called Taskers, are privileged to get hired for jobs in their area based on their skill set. They set their schedule and manage payments through TaskRabbit’s tasker app. Consider TaskRabbit as the Uber for service gigs and odd jobs.

Working as a tasker on TaskRabbit has saved my financial life. I can get work in my area any time I am available and need the money. Also, I only receive work that aligns with my skills. In my official Taskers for TaskRabbit review, I will share my overall experience as a tasker on TaskRabbit within New York City and New Jersey. Also, I will share how you can join TaskRabbit and get started as a Tasker. Finally, I will share tips on how to succeed as a tasker.

About TaskRabbit

TaskRabbit is all about getting more done in less time. According to its website, TaskRabbit is a same-day service platform that quickly connects users with skilled Taskers in their area. These taskers help users with odd jobs, errands, and professional services.

TaskRabbit was founded in February 2008 by Leah Busque. She came up with the idea one night upon realizing she had run out of dog food. Since it was a cold and stormy night, she thought about outsourcing the task to someone else in her community to save time.

Originally called RunMyErrand, TaskRabbit became the official name in 2010. Finally, in September 2017, the Swedish home goods company Ikea acquired TaskRabbit for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition enables Ikea to offer furniture assembly and other business-related services already available on TaskRabbit.

My Tasker for TaskRabbit Experience

As stated earlier, working as a Tasker for TaskRabbit has helped save my financial life. It has kept money in my pockets in between college semesters and after graduating. In fact, being a Tasker has also helped me land my first job within weeks of graduating college. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic caused me to lose that job. However, as the pandemic improves in the New York City area, TaskRabbit once again provides financial security for me.

I have been a Tasker for TaskRabbit since the summer of 2018. At first, I signed up for this app because I needed to quickly make more money for an upcoming trip. However, after that trip, I still actively work as a Tasker. I have plenty of experiences as a Tasker to share, both good and bad.

Tasker Requirements

Before I could be a Tasker on TaskRabbit, first, I had to meet their basic requirements. According to TaskRabbit Support, to become a Tasker, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Have a U.S. Social Security Number and ID for the background check and personal information verification.
  2. Be at least 18 years old.
  3. Must be able to work in a city on TaskRabbit. You are not required to own a vehicle; it depends on the type of Tasker you want to be. However, if you plan on relying on public transportation to get to and complete tasks, make sure it is reliable.
  4. Have a checking account with direct deposit.
  5. Pay a $25 TaskRabbit registration fee. This is really paying for the mandatory background check.
  6. Have a smartphone to download and use the Tasker app.

Sign-Up Process

The sign-up process for Taskers is standard. When I signed up to be a Tasker on TaskRabbit in 2018:

  1. I download the Tasker app.
  2. Create a Tasker account on the app. You can also create an account on TaskRabbit’s website first, then download the app.
  3. Once I create my account and verify my identity, I choose my skills, write a quick pitch for each skill, and set my hourly rates.
  4. I add at least one available time to my app schedule and draw my work availability map. This step lets the app know where I am willing to work. Only clients in that specified work area can see my profile and hire me.
  5. I pay the $25 registration fee so TaskRabbit can conduct a background check. I had to wait about two days for TaskRabbit to accept me.

The wait time for TaskRabbit to accept new Taskers varies. It is based more on location and skill demand than the background check. A new Tasker’s background check only further delays their acceptance if there are any issues on their report. If background check issues are not the reason for a delay in a new Tasker’s acceptance, then the reason could be that chosen skills are not in high demand in their work area.

As annoying as this may be, it ensures no over-saturation of Taskers with skills in areas that are not popular. This way, all Taskers have a fair chance of getting booked for work in their area. The best way to avoid this is to add multiple skills to your account when creating it. Although not guaranteed, it is what I did to avoid waiting longer than two days.

My Chosen Skills

Once again, I am not 100% sure if adding a lot of skills to my profile increased my chances of getting accepted quickly. However, I added many skills to my account to increase my chances of getting hired. Of course, I only choose skills for tasks I feel comfortable and safe doing.

Upon registering for TaskRabbit, I added the following skills to my profile (descriptions are from the Tasker app):

  • Data Entry involves entering text, numbers, or other information into a spreadsheet or other software.
  • Running Errands helps people with their day-to-day tasks. Running errands includes dropping off and picking up items, plus shipping packages.
  • Event Planning involves finding event locations, creating guest lists, developing agendas, contacting caterers and vendors, assisting with running the event, and other related tasks.
  • Event Staffing involves greeting and checking in guests, collecting tickets, setting up and cleaning up, bartending, and more.
  • Marketing involves helping clients with marketing, advertising, public relations, and other branding work.
  • Office Administration involves various clerical work for companies and their employees. This skill includes being a receptionist, notary, organizing, filing, making appointments, keeping a schedule, and more.
  • Organization involves helping clients organize their closets, rooms, offices, desks, etc.
  • Packing & Unpacking involves helping people pack and unpack their items for a move to a new location.
  • Personal Assistant involves running errands, taking calls, scheduling, and other support for clients.
  • Research involves researching topics for clients for personal or business use.

Set My Own Rates

A key benefit of working as a tasker on TaskRabbit is setting and changing clients’ rates for my services. Each skill has its own starting pay rate. Taskers can change their rates to charge clients what is fair for them.

Ultimately, the amount of income a tasker on TaskRabbit makes depends on these factors:

  • Work area and client demand.
  • Type of task and the skill it falls under.
  • The duration of the task.
  • Amount of time in a day you commit to TaskRabbit.
  • The number of days in a week you commit to TaskRabbit.

The more tasks you complete that fall within a specific skill, the more TaskRabbit will suggest rate increases for that skill. This is especially true as you earn more positive client ratings and reviews.

My First Day as a Tasker on TaskRabbit

My first task as a Tasker on TaskRabbit was a Personal Assistant task in Manhattan. The job was simple; I had to pick up some cable equipment and take them to my client’s address. However, the client was away, so they gave me instructions on how to access their apartment.

To be honest, I was nervous. At first, I was second-guessing if the job was real or not. Then, I was concerned if I was doing the task correctly. Eventually, the client asked me to set up the cable for him. At first, I was nervous because this was not part of the initial instructions. I did not know how to handle myself in case things went wrong. However, I did my best and completed the task.

Upon completing my first task, I get hired for my second personal assistant task that same day. This next task is the first where I help an employee of a company. Also, it was close to my university in New Jersey, proving that I should expect to get work outside New York City. Finally, both tasks became re-occurring jobs because I did well on my first day.

Help Moving & Delivery Experience

After using TaskRabbit for about a week, I took only a short time to add more skills. Of all my original skills, I was only getting hired for work in the Packing & Unpacking, Personal Assistant, and Running Errands skills. However, I was making less money than I could with only these skills. As a result, I added the Help Moving and Delivery skills to my profile to get more work.

Help Moving

Help Moving involves helping people move boxes and furniture from one place to another. Despite having the highest pay rate among all skills on my profile, Help Moving is also the most physically demanding. At the time, I was not as physically fit as I am now. As a result, I had to think about it before officially adding it to my profile. However, once I started, I have not stopped.

In the New York City area, Help Moving tasks can be challenging because there are plenty of two to five-family homes with NO elevators. Often, clients will purposely fail to mention if their apartment is a walk-up and by how many floors. I also worked with clients who under-estimate the scope of work. When the amount of work needed more help from the client themselves or another Tasker, I had clients who refused to do either. To top it all off, I have helped clients who set unrealistic expectations.

Despite being a physical and sometimes challenging task, Help Moving is my most popular skill. In the New York City area, there is always a need for help with moving. Depending on demand, I can get hired for multiple moving jobs in one day.

Finally, despite working with bad clients, I have also worked with excellent ones. They contributed to the work when necessary and often checked on my well-being. This skill has helped with my Tasker profile’s positive maturity and ranking. Not to mention, it has indeed played a positive role in my personal fitness goals.

Delivery

Delivery on TaskRabbit involves delivering items to clients, such as food, clothing, documents, etc. As long as you can deliver items safely and promptly, there are no guidelines for transportation. However, TaskRabbit does suggest Taskers include gas, parking, and public transportation fees in their hourly rate.

I added Delivery to my Tasker profile because of how easy and reliable the New York City public transportation system is (for the most part). I can deliver items to my clients within an hour using the New York City subway (and sometimes bus) system. However, having delivery tasks back-to-back in different parts of the city can be difficult.

The difficulty of back-to-back delivery tasks in and around New York City can depend on these factors:

  • The origin, destination, and the type or amount of items to transport for my first delivery task.
  • The starting point of my next delivery task and its proximity to the destination of my previous delivery task.
  • The start time of my next delivery task, when I arrived at the destination of the last one, and the ETA to the starting point of my next delivery task via New York City transit.
  • Traffic if I choose to drive or call an Uber or Lyft.

Tasker Support, Success, and Benefits

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about how TaskRabbit supports their Taskers. Yes, the pay is decent (depending on your skills). Also, TaskRabbit does offer decent perks and benefits. However, TaskRabbit cares more about its clients than they do its Taskers. I understand that clients and their tasks are the money-makers for the company. However, Taskers are only sometimes fully considered.

Metrics System

I’m not too fond of TaskRabbit’s metrics system for their Taskers. It is hard for Taskers to cancel on their clients. If a client were to hire me and I could not accept the task for whatever reason, my metrics could be severely impacted. Poor metrics on TaskRabbit mean your profile will be shown less to clients. As a result, your chances of getting hired for tasks decrease the worst your metrics get.

Yes, if Taskers need to cancel or forfeit a task, there are options to choose from that should best explain why the task was canceled. TaskRabbit is supposed to use that cancel reason, information on the task itself, and the chat conversation between the Tasker and the client to determine if any of the Tasker’s metrics should fall. However, in many cases, despite having valid reasons with proof for canceling or forfeiting a task, my metrics still fell.

As a result, I constantly find myself disputing the drop in my metrics to TaskRabbit support. In some cases, they understand and will adjust my metrics. However, there have been a few cases where TaskRabbit support refused to fix my metrics, despite what I said.

Original Metric System

The original metrics consist of three categories, Acceptance, Response, and Reliability. Each of these metrics gives a ranking score based on 100%. The goal is to keep all three metrics at or close to 100% each month. If Taskers do not accept all their tasks, their Acceptance rate drops. Also, if Taskers do not respond to their clients promptly, their Response score drops. Finally, if Taskers do not complete their tasks (or even accept and respond to them), their Reliability score drops.

Honestly, a score below 90% on any of these categories will start negatively impacting a Tasker’s profile. As metrics fall from not accepting or completing tasks, a Tasker’s profile will lose visibility and will not be hired quickly. Despite TaskRabbit claiming below 85%, from experience, my profile would start losing visibility if any of my metrics dropped below 90%. If it continues, TaskRabbit will begin restricting Tasker’s accounts.

This certainly happened to me before while I was in college. I was not available to work for TaskRabbit for nearly entire semesters, and my metrics would drop. Once I became available again, this made it difficult to get hired for work.

New Tasker Metrics (2022)

Thanks to feedback (complaints) from Taskers, TaskRabbit finally unveils a new metrics system. This new system, referred to as Tasker Metrics, is part of TaskRabbit’s overall goal of improving transparency on how Taskers appear in search results. As a result, Taskers can see where their profiles rank on TaskRabbit’s client interface and better understand their ranking.

First announced to Taskers in April 2022, TaskRabbit’s new metrics system is supposed to provide the following:

  • More transparent client search result placement that is based on past performance. It is also based on how closely Taskers abide by pricing guidelines.
  • More Tasker profiles are visible to clients, so Taskers have a higher chance of getting hired for tasks.
  • Opportunity for work insights that are based on current work area demand.
  • Market comparisons give Taskers insight into their rank compared to other Taskers in their work area.

My Feedback on TaskRabbit’s New Tasker Metric System

After using TaskRabbit with their new metric system for a year, I am not much of a fan. While it is good that factors of the old system, such as Acceptance, Response, and Reliability, are not primarily factored in the same as before. Your availability and activity, however, are now at the forefront. Your Tasker profile’s visibility will decrease if you do not proactively accept and complete tasks.

You must maintain at least 60% in the new opportunity percentile to maintain a healthy flow of task invitations. To achieve this, you have to keep accepting and completing tasks. What I do not like about this is that if you want to take a few days off from being a Tasker, you now risk dropping below 60%. As a result, you will have trouble picking up tasks once you decide to start accepting tasks again.

Tasker Analytics

In June 2022, Tasker Analytics is now available as part of the rollout of Tasker Metrics. With this new Tasker app update, Taskers can now see three new panels of information on where they stand on the client-facing interface.

  1. The Opportunity tab gives Taskers a 30-day snapshot of their placement in client search results. It also compares their visibility to other taskers within the same work area.
  2. The Earnings tab shows Taskers how much they earned in the last 30 days. It also shows how much money TaskRabbit anticipates the Tasker to make based on their work area opportunity and availability. Finally, this tab compares Tasker’s earnings within a work area.
  3. The Tasks tab shows the number of tasks completed in the last 30 days. It also compares a Tasker’s completion to others within their work area.

Tasker Elite Status

Since 2014, TaskRabbit has an Elite status feature for their Taskers. It highlights Taskers who are most consistent on the platform and provide the best service to clients. A tasker with Elite Status on their profile is more likely to get hired for work because they are considered more trustworthy to clients.

To qualify for Elite Status, Taskers have to meet these criteria:

  • Submit at least 20 invoices in at least one chosen category.
  • Submit at least 10 task invoices in one month.
  • Have a profile rating of at least 4.7 stars.
  • No violations of TaskRabbit’s policies within the last 90 days.

2022 Elite Program

In July 2022, TaskRabbit rolled out its changes to the Tasker Elite Program. As part of the Tasker Metrics changes, TaskRabbit wants to make earning the Elite Badge better and more useful for Taskers. Both the submitting at least 10 task invoices per month and not violating TaskRabbits’ policies rules have not changed. However, to qualify for the new Elite program, Taskers must:

  • Submit at least 50 task invoices in a category and 200 tasks overall.
  • Be within the top 10 percentile of Taskers who exceed their anticipated task count. This information can be found in the Tasks and Opportunity tabs within the Analytics section of the Tasker app.

This new elite program makes it harder for Taskers to become and stay elite. While accumulating 50 task invoices in a category is relatively easy, consistently staying within the top 10 percentile of taskers is difficult.

A Tasker’s Profile

TaskRabbit makes it easy for Taskers to customize their profiles to help them stand out and set expectations. First, Taskers can indicate what type of tools and vehicles they own. Next, Taskers can indicate if they have any pet allergies, speak multiple languages, and require a two-hour minimum for tasks (this can be risky). Finally, Taskers can add photos of past work to their profile for future potential clients to see. This feature is excellent for Taskers who want to start a business around their services.

Support System

In the event of an on-the-job emergency or issue, Taskers have three methods to get in contact with TaskRabbit support. The three methods are:

  • email
  • live chat
  • emergency hotline

So far, I have yet to use TaskRabbit’s phone number for help. Also, using email for support depends on the outcome of my live chat conversations. Response time for me has been within one day.

However, my go-to method for contacting TaskRabbit support is via live chat. It is fast and robust, and overall, the staff is supportive. Despite being very annoying every time, I mainly use live chat when I have to dispute my metrics. I win my disputes almost every time because TaskRabbit is always incorrectly dropping my metrics due to a canceled task. By the way, this is what their support staff tells me every time. Hopefully, the changes to Tasker Metrics will help fix this issue.

Perks & Benefits

According to their support page, TaskRabbit partners with various companies essential to Taskers to provide exclusive deals and discounts. They have perks and benefits for cell phone plans, transportation, task-related expenses and mileage tracking, healthcare, finance, and supplies. Of course, Taskers are not required to use these perks and benefits. However, they are available for Taskers whenever they need them.

Wellness & Safety

As part of the Affordable Care Act, individuals should have healthcare, and businesses should provide it to their employees. Although Taskers are considered independent contractors, their work is still from TaskRabbit. As a result, TaskRabbit must offer something.

Stride Health

TaskRabbit partners with Stride Health, which provides healthcare recommendations for independent contractors like Taskers.

Lively

With the partnership with Lively, Taskers can use tax-free funds from their Health Savings Account (HSA) to help pay for out-of-pocket medical, dental, and vision expenses.

NURX

TaskRabbit extends its healthcare perks even further by also partnering with NURX. They provide affordable healthcare services such as birth control, at-home STD testing, emergency contraception, and more. Through NURX, Taskers will receive $1 off every month for the first three months of birth control.

Avibra

Abriva will provide Taskers $1,000. Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance at no additional cost.

Bond Personal Security

Not that Taskers should be in a situation where they or their loved ones need personal security. However, if that is the case, Bond offers Taskers their premium $450/year professional-grade 24/7 safety services for a steep discount.

Finance

TaskRabbit has partnered with some financial platforms to help Taskers save money and invest the money they make with the app.

Acorns

Taskers will receive a $10 bonus when they sign up for Acorns to invest spare change from everyday purchases.

Level

Level will provide funding for Taskers to help grow their business with TaskRabbit. All Taskers need to do is link their TaskRabbit earnings. As long as the time and income requirements are met, Taskers could receive $250-$10,000 in about one business day. No credit check, business license, or social security number is needed to apply.

Keeper Tax

Keeper Tax provides Taskers 53% off their tax filing and expense tracking service.

Supplies

TaskRabbit partners with companies to help provide exclusive discounts for Taskers who need supplies for their business.

AT&T

TaskRabbit partners with AT&T to give Taskers a 10% discount on phones and plans.

Office Depot & OfficeMax

Taskers can save up to 80% at Office Depot and Office Max for all office, handyperson, and cleaning supplies.

Tips and Best Practices for Tasker Success

My experience being a Tasker for TaskRabbit since 2018 has taught me things I wish I had known early on. It also helps reassure me lessons I already know how to run a successful business and basic business etiquette. In this section of my Tasker for TaskRabbit review, I will share tips and best practices for new and current Taskers to help you succeed. These tips are in no specific order.

How to be a Successful Tasker on TaskRabbit:

  1. Stay on top of your availability.
  2. Read each task thoroughly.
  3. Ask questions ASAP.
  4. Your chat conversations with clients matter.
  5. Arrive on time.
  6. Your task starts soon as you arrive.
  7. Stay hydrated.
  8. Submit invoices promptly.
  9. Be mindful of how much you set your rates.
  10. NETWORK
  11. File your taxes.

Stay on top of your availability.

Unfortunately, TaskRabbit does not care about our work-life balance like they claim to care. For new Taskers:

  1. If days go by and you are unavailable to work, pause your account. If you do not pause your account, your metrics will drop. Go to your settings to do this.
  2. Try to solidify matters outside of TaskRabbit before making yourself available for tasks. Canceling clients at the last minute can cost you and your metrics, even if the reasons are valid.
  3. Depending on location and demand, same-day tasks are not always guaranteed. TaskRabbit allows Taskers to set their availability up to two weeks in advance. I recommend scheduling your availability at least one week in advance. If your schedule is too tight or unpredictable, try to schedule yourself for TaskRabbit at least 48 hours in advance.

Read each task thoroughly.

I cannot stress this enough. Please ensure the details of the task you are hired for are clear and make sense BEFORE accepting it. You want to avoid entering into any surprises once you arrive.

Ask Questions ASAP.

To continue from the previous tip, if a task is unclear or too vague and requires more information, ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU ACCEPT THE TASK. Again, you want to avoid entering into any avoidable surprises.

For example, I receive plenty of help Moving tasks where clients purposely fail to mention if their apartment is in a walk-up building (no elevator). In addition, they will intentionally fail to mention all the furniture I will be dealing with, the weight and dimensions of certain items, and other important information.

I actively ask my clients these crucial questions before putting myself in these potentially risky situations. I even have no issue declining tasks I feel are unsafe for me. The chat conversation between the client and me is all the proof I need for potential metric disputes.

Your chat conversations with clients matter.

It is the most important and reliable evidence trail throughout TaskRabbit’s entire system. TaskRabbit recommends using the chat feature more than calling clients because it is easier to settle situations based on what their support staff can see for themselves. For example, if I forfeit a task because I ask a question and the client does not respond, TaskRabbit will review the chat to see my question and no response from the client. At least, that is how it is supposed to work.

A specific example I will share is when someone canceled a task on me within minutes of the start time. Typically, if a client cancels on you last minute, you are supposed to receive payment for one hour of the time missed. However, this time I did not get paid for the late cancellation. Despite confirming the timestamped task in the chat thread, it was not eligible for a cancelation fee. To this day, I am still pissed off about this. I suggest being as conversational as possible in chat conversations with clients.

Arrive on time.

I should not have to include this tip because this is basic. However, there have been times when I have worked with clients who hire more Taskers that show up either extremely late or not at all. Some only notified the client once, while others did not notify the client at all. Either way, I have found myself working by myself or just with the client because more help did not care to arrive on time or at all.

Please do not be that Tasker! Your metrics and overall standing with TaskRabbit still matter and will be affected. It is inconvenient for the client and everyone else involved with the task. If you will be late or can no longer make it to a task, notify the client in the chat as soon as possible.

Your task starts soon as you arrive.

If you arrive at a task on time and your client is running late, you can and should use your arrival time as the task start time. While you should respect your client’s time by arriving on time, your client should also arrive on time. This is especially true if you have multiple tasks in a day. The last thing you need is your entire schedule pushed back because a client is late to a job they hired you to do.

Stay Hydrated.

Especially if you engage in physically demanding tasks. Not every client you work with will be considerate and offer you water (even though they should and most do).

Submit invoices promptly.

Taskers are responsible for submitting their invoices. As a tasker, you should stay on top of your invoices to ensure you get paid promptly. The wait time for direct deposit begins 24 hours after you submit the invoice. You must submit your invoices to get paid on time for your hard work. I recommend submitting your invoice as soon as you finish a task.

Be mindful of how much you set your rates.

As a tasker who does not use/provide your tools, equipment, or vehicle, I recommend setting your rates according to TaskRabbit’s suggestions. First, it can backfire if your profile does not have the work history or other information to support the pay rate you set on your own. Second, the rate you earn is different from what clients are paying.

TaskRabbit’s fee is built on top of your pay rate. You could earn $40 per hour for a task, but the client pays $45. As a result, raising your rate on your own, even if TaskRabbit suggests doing so, could make you too expensive for clients to hire you. They still have to pay TaskRabbit by the hour as well.

To handle this, I slowly raised my rate based on demand. For example, if I raise my rate by $1 or $2, I will pay attention to the number of tasks I get. If the number of tasks I get falls after the rate increase, I will slightly drop my rate for a couple of days to get more tasks before permanently raising it back up.

This method works well for me. To this day, I have rates of $3 to over $20 less than TaskRabbit recommends. However, I did increase them enough to ensure I still get the same amount of tasks. What helps is consistently keeping metrics high and providing quality service.

NETWORK

Networking is a skill every working professional should have. As a Tasker, this skill is critical to success no matter the type of Tasker you are. If you are trying to establish and grow a business around your services, using your tasks to network with clients can increase your referrals outside of TaskRabbit. Outside referrals mean more money-making opportunities, so do an excellent job with all of your tasks.

However, if you are like me and have goals outside of TaskRabbit, networking is definitely essential. I treat TaskRabbit as a primary side hustle. At the same time, I work on this blog, my modeling career, and my real estate endeavors.

Throughout my time as a Tasker in New York City, my clients include writers, photographers, other models, and even fashion and real estate industry professionals. Do all of my networking conversations succeed? No, not every client is personable, can, or is willing to help. Plus, I did not get hired to network. However, it never hurts to try.

File your taxes.

I need to include this tip because this can be confusing. Initially, I learned that if you perform more than 200 tasks and make over $20,000, they send you a 1099-K form. However, if you do not make $20,000 through TaskRabbit, you must still report whatever amount you earned to the IRS.

Even if you earned just $1,000, that is still income you earned and lived off of in some way. Just file your taxes and report your TaskRabbit earnings, no matter the amount. To make things easier, TaskRabbit sends a 1099 form to Taskers, no matter how much money they earn on the app.

Final Thoughts

Before I conclude, I must express how I feel that TaskRabbit caters too much to businesses. Yes, Taskers are providing clients a paying service. However, not all Taskers, such as myself, are running businesses through the platform. TaskRabbit needs to understand that some of us are just regular people trying to make ends me. We (well, I) do not own special tools or vehicles, and we (I) have a personal life outside of this app that can interfere at any moment.

Yes, it is essential that paying clients’ needs are met. At the same time, Taskers’ needs, safety, and well-being should be better considered. TaskRabbit can start by not being so quick to penalize me for canceling or refusing to accept tasks I either cannot do or feel uncomfortable doing.

On the other hand, anyone who wants to be their own boss should sign up as a Tasker. It is a great way to gain knowledge and experience in running a business, customer service, and skills that pertain to your tasks. Although I majored in business while attending college, working as a Tasker has still exposed me to a lot of what I learned in school. Some of those lessons include:

  • having excellent customer service skills to
  • managing a schedule,
  • time management
  • organization
  • Keeping track of expenses,

Working as a Tasker, either part-time or full-time, can feel like you are running a business.

Conclusion

Aside from this discrepancy, I still appreciate being a Tasker for as long as I have. It has and continues to help me both financially and professionally. The ability to be my own boss, set my schedule, adjust my pay, and more have helped mold the independent entrepreneur I am becoming as we speak.

With everything that has been going on since the end of the pandemic, from rising inflation and cost of living to the “Great Resignation,” now is the best time to become a Tasker on TaskRabbit. I hope you enjoy my Tasker for TaskRabbit review. Feel free to leave feedback in the comments below. If you have any further questions or concerns, send me a message.
